Yummy Easter goodies

I don't know about you, but everyone in this house loves the Reeses Easter eggs! When I found on these pinterest I just had to try it.  So, when Colten took his nap Ella & I got to work. :)  And, they are SO good!! They might be better that the original! I did do a few things different than the recipe.

I thought it needed about twice as much milk & I dipped mine in chocolate bark instead of chocolate chips.  I also did 1/2 of mine in white chocolate. Dave likes the white chocolate ones better :)

They are SO good! I think they are better than the original! YUM!!

Kitchen Makeover l Part 3

My cupboards are done!!

YAY! It took me FOREVER to decide on paint colors for the walls. I picked a dark blue & a lighter teal blue. When I got them on the walls, I didn't like one of them. I thought the color that was supposed to be a lighter blue was too dark. So, I added white to it until I thought it was good. Then I still hated it. Oddly enough my husband liked it.

Yes, I am leaving the doors off & I LOVE IT!

That was weird, me who loves color didn't like it & Dave who wanted me to paint all the rooms white when we moved in liked it.  I love them both, just wasn't sure if I like them both together. I decided to put the room back together & live with it for awhile.

I decided I wanted a whole bunch of vases that match to put on top of the cupboards. So, I painted some. I am planning on doing more. I will tell you how I did it next week. :)

I just loved this photo I took of Ella.
I love it even more as a canvas in my kitchen!

Now I love it! YAY YAY YAY!!! :)  I LOVE MY KITCHEN!!! I am SO happy with the way it turned out! Not that it's completely done. I still have to paint all the trim & we are going to get new flooring. Hopefully sooner that later.

Growing up TOO FAST!

I just CANNOT believe how fast my kids are growing up!! I know, so cliche! You always hear, enjoy them while they are young, it doesn't last long. That's for sure! Ella talks SO well, is counting (almost to 20!) learning her ABC's, has been potty trained for months (since before she was 2). Colten crawls at super top speed on his hands & feet & started taking steps last week (before he was even 9 months!)

Before I know it he'll be talking too & running around. It does fly by & I try to take every moment & just ENJOY them! Like how Ella wakes up each day singing & Colten wakes up laughing. :) How Ella has an imaginary birdie, & sees butterflies everywhere she goes. How Colten's face lights up when the door opens & Dave walks in the house & he sits & listens, as soon as Dave talks he flys into the kitchen to see his Daddy. How those little fingers are figuring out how to pick everything up (and of course shove it into his mouth as quickly as possible) How they just ADORE each other! Coltens favorite place to be is in Ellas room playing with her (and her cool toys) How Ella takes care of her baby brother, helping him, taking away things he shouldn't have, keeping her small toys picked up so he can't get them. So, I encourage you to slow down & enjoy the small things your children do. After all, some day you will realize the small things are really the big things. :)

Kitchen Makeover l Part 2

My kitchen cabinets are almost done!!!

It has been a long week with sick kids, my kitchen spread all over the house & late night working on it. It is looking SO good & I can't wait to get it put back together!

Every nook & cranny have been cleaned, scrubbed with degreaser, painted, glazed & sealed with a top coat.

The top coat had to go undisturbed for 12 hours, the directions even said no kids or pets near it for 12 hours. Do you know how hard that was with a 2 year old, 9 month old, & a dog, a puppy & a cat?! Somehow I pulled it off!

So, since I have 2 napping kids {that is a feat in & of itself!} I'll go put everything back in it's place & decide on paint colors.....

This is the kit I used :)

Kitchen Makeover l Part 1

My first major project this year is to redo my kitchen. :) I have been  wanting to do this since we moved in & I FINALLY convinced Dave to let me. It still took a few months before I got started. I wanted to be sure of what I decided to do & I had to be ready for the mess. :)

So, time to get started!! I began removing doors & drawers & decided that I need to reorganize as well.
(as if I didn't have enough to do)

Day 1-
I emptied out the drawers & lower cupboards & removed all the doors.

The kit I used didn't require sanding {BONUS! cuz I hate sanding!!!} I had to clean everything then use the degreaser from the kit & scrub everything. I got most of the doors & drawers & 1/2 of the cabinets painted. Now, as I sit here on my couch typing this looking at the mess that is my kitchen I am SO excited about what it will look like when it's all done. So, I should get off the couch & go work on my mess of a kitchen.  :0]

The life of a stay at home Mommy....

Dave got outta work early today, Ella was SO excited to see her Daddy home so early.
Then he had to go pick up a load of cows. (He's a cattle jockey)  Sad sad Ella! She kept saying "no Daddy, stay home, play with Ella" :( So, he took her with him. Then Colten took a 2 1/2 hour nap! I had HOURS to myself!!! What did I do with them??? Bubble bath?

Nope! That was Colten after he ate dinner, watch TV? NOPE! Take a nap? NOPE!

I edited some photos  from a recent newborn session, picked up the toys in the livingroom, vacuumed the livingroom, cleaned out some kitchen cupboards (in preparation for my next project!!), swept & mopped the kitchen, made a batch of my chocolate chip cookies
{Find my recipe here}
did the dishes, fed Colten dinner then gave him a bath. All in 3 1/2 hours! This Momma isn't messing around!! :) When Dave & Ella got home we got to relax & spend time together, which makes those crazy few hours SO worth it!!
