I recently heard of an awesome way to make baked potatoes & was so excited that I had to share! Make them in your crock pot!!
That way it won't take up oven space or get you house hot. Seeing as how it was 80 degrees in March I was pretty excited about the part where it won't make my house hot, it's already hot enough! I was told to wash & dry them & wrap them in foil then place them in the crock pot on low for 8 hours.
That would be perfect if you are gonna be gone all day. Or even let them cook over night then dice them & make homestyle fries in the morning. I wanted to make them for lunch & didn't wanna wake up in the middle of the night to put them in. ;) So I cooked them on high & it only took 2 hours.
I also like to coat my potatoes in olive oil & sea salt & I didn't wanna use the foil. I wasn't sure about them touching the bottom of the pot so I crinkled up some foil & put it in the bottom.
Then I just put the potatoes on top. They were in the crock pot for 2 & 1/2 hours & they were delicious!
